Students work with pre-school children for eight hours per week at the Purchase Children's Center, located on campus. The academic component of the practicum is coordinated through weekly class meetings that relate the students' experience with children at the Center to issues in child development.
Interns & Senior Projects
The Children's Center at Purchase College serves both as a child care facility and as an academic resource for the students and faculty of the College. In its role as an academic resource, the Center is often the site for research done by, or under the supervision of, Purchase College faculty.
Students who are awarded Work-Study in their financial aid package may request placement at The Children's Center. They are required to complete an interview and all other screening as required by NYS OCFS.
